Kingfisher Historical Fencing Club serves the HEMA community of Chico, California. We offer instuction in numerous weapons, and practice swordplay as a sport, a movement art, and a social gathering.
Our instructors bring together perspectives from many historical sources, as well as modern Olympic fencing and the contemporary HEMA tournament scene. Each class session is structured to build coordination, confidence, and skill. The path to mastery is long, but there is a lot of fun to be had along the way.
New fencers are invited to attend an eight-week beginner course. This course will familiarize students with the foundational movement patterns and theory of fencing, using both one- and two-handed swords. Our next cohort will begin on June 2nd, 2025 and will run through July 21st. The first session will be free of charge.
If you are interested in attending, please contact us by email at kingfisherhfc@gmail.com, or call us at (530) 588-0776.
